Appointment Requests

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Strawberry Place Surgery has introduced extra measures in line with Welsh Government guidelines in order to produce a safe environment for all patients.

Please can all patients requesting to be seen or needing advice, please telephone 01792 522526 between the hours of 8.00am - 11.00am or for Non-Urgent Advice/Appointments please e.mail and your Non-Urgent request will be dealt with within 48hours Monday - Friday.

Patients attending the practice will need to adhere to the Social Distancing measures that have been put in place for your safety and the safety of others.  We have installed a doorbell with an intercom and have hand gel at the point of entrance.  Patients should not attend if they have COVID-19 symptoms.

When attending, please ensure you arrive on time and please ensure that face masks are worn at all times.  The surgery waiting room chairs have been marked to ensure Social Distancing and we will make every effort to ensure you are seen on time and not kept waiting.

The practice operates a Telephone Triage System, where we ask that if you require an appointment on the day you wish to be seen, that you contact the surgery between the hours of 8.00am and 11.00am.  The practice ensures that each morning there are enough Doctors/Nurses available to meet the demand of patients either wishing to be seen or requesting advice.  As a result all Doctors and Nurses will have appointments reserved in their morning surgeries for their patients to be seen.  Patients telephoning to ask for an appoitment or advice will be asked to confirm their telephone number and a brief description of why they are requesting a callback.  This will allow the Doctor to prioritise the call.  Please ensure we have your up to date contact details and that you are available to answer the telephone when you are expecting a call back.

If you do not wish to receive text reminders, please contact the practice to opt out.

Nurses have pre-bookable appointments available.

Non-Urgent Requests

For non-urgent requests for an appointment/advice, please e.mail, please note that your non-urgent request will be dealt with within 48 hours Monday-Friday.

Although every effort is made to keep to appointment times, there may sometimes be a delay because of emergencies.

If you are unable to keep an appointment, please telephone the surgery to let us know so that your appointment time can be allocated to another patient.

If you are late for an appointment because of circumstances beyond your control then we will try our best to see you, but you may be offered an appointment on another day.

Every effort will be made for you to be seen by the Doctor of your choice but this is not always possible.

You may ask to be seen by a male or female Doctor, if you have a sensitive problem, and we will do our best to arrange this for you.

Should you have an urgent medical problem and you do not have a booked appointment, arrangements will be made for you to be seen by a Doctor as soon as possible.  You may be asked to see the Practice Nurse initially to assess the urgency of your problem.

If the practice feels that you would benefit from additional services, you may be signposted or referred to our Cluster based projects, which include Counselling, Social Prescribing, Mental Health Triage System etc.

Fast Track Self Booking-in System

The self-booking in system is located to the right as you enter the reception area.  This allows patients to check in when they arrive for their appointment with the nurse or doctor if it the appointment has been arranged in advance.  Patients are called for their appointment via Jayex Boards which have been installed in the waiting room.
